Baton Rouge, La. (AP) – People from six parganas whose jobs or businesses were lost or disrupted after Hurricane Zeta was killed Louisiana According to the state Labor Department in October, disaster can apply for unemployment assistance on 12 February.
Unemployment assistance became available last week when President Donald Trump approved a major disaster declaration for Louisiana due to the zeta. The storm made a landslide on October 28 in LaForch Parish as a Category 3 hurricane.
The Louisiana Workforce Commission is accepting disaster unemployment applications from residents and businesses in Jefferson, LaFourche, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard and Terrebonne Parsh.
The commission said that aid – which is available for weeks of unemployment from November 1, 2020 to July 17, is not available to those who are already eligible for unemployment benefits or epidemic-free assistance.
People can file their disaster unemployment applications online at www.laworks.net or by calling 1-866-783-5567.
