Authorities said a grass fire near Los Angeles severely injured an explosion.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Abraham Bedoyan said the explosion occurred at 4:45 pm in a mixed-use industrial neighborhood in Santa Clarita.
According to Martin Rangel, supervisor of the L. County County Department, the ambulance took three critical patients to hospitals.
Rangel said the fire spread to the meadows but flames could flare up quickly. Aerial TV news footage showed a large-scale fire crew with multiple cargo containers.
Sheriff’s officials advised residents to stay clear of an area about 30 miles (48 kilometers) north of Los Angeles.
